Production Chemist

A growing and well-established chemical manufacturing business is seeking a Production Chemist to join its operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemistry professional to play a hands-on role in chemical production, process optimisation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within a specialist manufacturing environment.
Working closely with senior leadership and production teams, you will be responsible for ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while supporting process development and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and optimise chemical manufacturing processes.
- Operate and monitor mixing, blending, and repackaging activities.
- Safely handle a variety of chemicals, including air- and moisture-sensitive materials.
- Perform quality control testing on raw materials and finished products.
- Investigate and troubleshoot production issues to improve efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including batch records, test results, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with production and management teams to enhance manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
About You
You will have a practical background in chemistry, manufacturing, or laboratory operations, combined with a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience within a production, manufacturing, or laboratory environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and industrial chemistry principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and documentation capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Desirable Experience
- 3+ years' experience in a chemical production or manufacturing setting.
- Experience using analytical instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, or spectroscopy techniques .
- Knowledge of GMP , quality systems, and chemical industry regulations.
- Experience handling hazardous or sensitive chemical materials.
