Assistant SENCO - Long-Term Opportunity

Location: Chatham Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Competitive Pay Start Date: ASAP Long-Term Position

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting for an Assistant SENCO to join a supportive and inclusive school in Chatham on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced education professional looking to develop their career within SEND and make a meaningful impact on pupils' educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the SENCO in coordinating SEND provision across the school
• Assist with EHCP reviews, intervention planning, and monitoring pupil progress
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
• Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide support to pupils with additional needs
• Promote an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a school setting, particularly with SEND pupils
• Strong understanding of SEND processes and inclusive practices
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
• A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting children's learning and development
