The timetable is currently being finalised but is expected to include:

  • Two full days and two mornings per week
  • Wednesday teaching in Reception
  • One full day teaching in Year 4
  • Two additional mornings allocated across other year groups within the school

The successful candidate will provide high-quality PPA cover across the school, delivering engaging lessons that promote excellent progress, positive behaviour and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities across a range of year groups from Reception to Key Stage 2.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports all pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including pupils with SEND, EAL and those requiring additional support.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and presentation.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress during lessons and provide appropriate feedback to class teachers.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, SEND staff and school leaders.
  • Promote pupil wellbeing, safeguarding and welfare at all times.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
  • Uphold the school's values, policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have recent experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Be confident teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Be adaptable and comfortable working with different classes and age groups.
  • Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to inclusive education and ensuring all pupils are supported to succeed.
  • Have a sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within schools.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience teaching mixed-age classes.
  • Experience delivering PPA cover across multiple year groups.
  • Knowledge of current assessment practices.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Experience leading wider curriculum activities, clubs or enrichment opportunities.
