Plasterer - Residential

Hourly Rate: £22.32 (via Umbrella)

Location: Sheffield

Job Type: 6-month contract, possible temp-to-perm

Hours: 37hrs per week, Mon to Fri, 8am to 4pm

We are seeking a skilled Plasterer for a role that involves carrying out internal repairs following tenancy changes, responsive repairs, damp works, and property refurbishment programmes. This position is ideal for someone with experience in social housing or property repairs, who is capable of working independently and managing a variety of tasks efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Plastering Repairs: Patch plastering, skimming, rendering, and repairing various plaster damages.
• Responsive Maintenance: Attending to repairs in occupied council properties, diagnosing plaster damage, and making necessary repairs.
• Void Property Refurbishment: Preparing empty properties for reletting, including extensive plasterwork and making good after installations.
• Damp and Mould Remediation: Removing and replastering areas affected by damp, applying damp-resistant systems.
• Multi-Skilled Tasks: Undertaking minor repairs related to tiling, carpentry, and general maintenance connected to plastering works.
• Property and Customer Care: Working respectfully in tenants' homes, explaining repair processes, and managing property and tenant care effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related field.
• Asbestos qualification.
• Proven experience in social housing or repair environments.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Proficiency in using PDA/mobile systems for job scheduling.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations, especially in occupied properties.
• Full UK driving licence.
