Head of Membership Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 Location: Hybrid (Northwest based) with regular travel and monthly travel to the London head office Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 35 hours per week About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially focused Head of Membership to lead membership growth, retention, engagement, sponsorship, and professional development activity. Reporting to a senior director, you will lead a team of 10, oversee a nationwide volunteer network, and drive commercial performance through membership acquisition, retention, sponsorship, and events.

Key Responsibilities Membership Growth & Retention Develop and implement regional membership growth strategies. Increase member acquisition, retention, and engagement. Build relationships with senior business leaders and key stakeholders. Monitor membership performance and commercial KPIs. Volunteer & Stakeholder Management Lead the volunteer engagement strategy across the organisation. Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, development, and governance. Ensure best practice and compliance across volunteer activities. Events, Sponsorship & Partnerships Oversee a high-quality programme of regional events. Secure sponsorship opportunities and strategic partnerships. Ensure events deliver value to members, sponsors, and prospects. Professional Development Promote professional development and leadership programmes. Drive participation and revenue growth across development offerings. Act as an ambassador for continuous professional learning. Team Leadership Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 10. Foster a high-performing, collaborative culture. Deliver against ambitious commercial and operational objectives.

Person Specification Essential Experience Significant experience leading membership, engagement, or volunteer networks. Proven track record of delivering against ambitious KPIs and revenue targets. Experience managing and developing teams. Background within membership organisations, professional bodies, business networks, charities, or a transferable sector. Experience securing sponsorships, partnerships, and delivering events. Essential Skills Strong commercial and business development acumen. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills. Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers. Strong project management and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve results. Personal Attributes Self-motivated and resilient. Commercially focused and results-driven. Strong relationship builder and influencer. Politically aware and externally focused.
