Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessels
About the company
We're recruiting for a growing international engineering business delivering bespoke pressure equipment, heat exchangers and engineered packages into the energy and industrial sectors.
Your tasks
You'll work on technically challenging projects, taking responsibility for mechanical design calculations and supporting equipment from initial engineering through to manufacture, testing and commissioning.
- Designing pressure vessels and associated mechanical equipment to recognised international codes.
- Performing engineering calculations for shells, nozzles, flanges, supports and other pressure-retaining components.
- Producing technical specifications and design documentation.
- Collaborating with CAD designers, thermal engineers and manufacturing teams.
- Supporting design reviews, customer discussions and technical approvals.
- Resolving engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
The company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in pressure vessel design to join its multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Experience designing pressure vessels to ASME VIII, EN 13445, PD 5500 or AD 2000.
- Knowledge of recognised pressure vessel design software such as PV Elite, COMPRESS or equivalent.
- Understanding of materials, fabrication, welding and pressure testing.
- A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent relevant qualification and experience.
Candidates with approximately 3+ years' experience will be considered, with senior-level opportunities available for more experienced engineers.
