Location: Clapham Park (Agile Working, 2-3 Days Office Based) Rate: £23.16 PAYE / £29.85 per hour Umbrella Organisation: Well-Known Housing Association Patch Coverage: Shared responsibility across two geographical areas: Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham Clapham Park West

Are you an experienced Housing Management professional looking for your next challenge with a respected housing association? We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Local Housing Manager to deliver high-quality housing and estate management services across a diverse portfolio of homes and tenures.

The Role:

As the accountable customer-facing representative, you will manage and coordinate excellent housing and estate services within a defined geographical patch. You will work closely with residents, local authority partners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure customers receive outstanding service and that local communities thrive.

This is a varied role covering tenancy management, estate services, customer engagement, leasehold and shared ownership management, and enforcement activities. You will have the autonomy to manage your patch whilst working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to deliver positive outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver effective housing management services across rented, leasehold and shared ownership tenures.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers within your patch.
  • Deliver high-quality estate inspections and estate management services.
  • Manage tenancy issues including breaches, anti-social behaviour and enforcement actions.
  • Coordinate lettings activity and support sustainable tenancies.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Local Authorities and external agencies.
  • Manage service delivery budgets and monitor expenditure.
  • Identify and support local initiatives that improve communities and customer wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors and internal departments to resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with policies, legislation and best practice.

Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience within Housing Management.
  • Experience managing leasehold and shared ownership customers.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management and anti-social behaviour processes.
  • Understanding of service charge related matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and partnership working abilities.
  • A track record of delivering exceptional customer-focused services.
  • Experience making a positive difference within housing communities.
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Knowledge of Housing Management best practice.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.

Please note: Considerable independent travel is required to fully meet the responsibilities of this position.
