Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience

If you're an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving technical challenges and working closely with other engineering disciplines, this opportunity could be a great next move.

We're working with an established, growing engineering company developing bespoke machinery and automation systems for a range of industries.

They're looking for a technically strong engineer who can take responsibility for mechanical design projects and help drive them through to successful delivery.

The role:

• Lead the mechanical design of bespoke machinery projects.
• Produce detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings and bills of materials.
• Manage design activities against project deadlines and budgets.
• Develop mechanisms, assemblies and integrated machinery solutions.
• Work closely with electrical, controls and manufacturing teams.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
• Support machinery builds, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll need:

• At least 5 years' mechanical design experience.
• Experience designing special purpose machinery, mechatronic systems or complete machines integrating electrical, electronic, robotic or automated technologies.
• Advanced 3D CAD capability, ideally Solid Edge, although experience with SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo is welcome.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and practical problem-solving ability.
• Experience taking responsibility for design deliverables and supporting machinery through manufacture or assembly.

You don't need to be a Lead Engineer already.
