Join our client's Technical team as a Junior Development Technologist, where you will be instrumental in supporting product quality, process optimisation, and production implementation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a technical laboratory environment and is keen on driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
Product Control & Process Support
- Support the transition of products from laboratory development to full-scale production, serving as a crucial link between technical development and plant operations.
- Assist with product improvement initiatives on the plant floor.
- Engage in process optimisation activities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
- Conduct laboratory technical work to support production and development needs.
- Collaborate with Production, Technical, and Quality teams to address process and product issues, including troubleshooting and investigating deviations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement opportunities for process, product, and quality enhancements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate and test new raw materials from suppliers to ensure compatibility with existing formulations.
Quality Control
- Accurately record, analyse, and communicate testing results.
- Escalate non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory standards, ensure equipment calibration, and manage quality documentation.
- Support QC batch testing in accordance with company procedures and specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, quality control, or technical operations is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to independently analyse data and make evidence-based decisions.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, production processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry is preferred.
