Junior Accountant

Location: Finchley, London

Job Type: Full-time (initially office-based with potential for hybrid working)

We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our accountancy practice in Finchley. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their accounting career to gain valuable exposure to a wide range of clients while developing their technical skills in bookkeeping and MTD/VAT.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts.
• Prepare bookkeeping records and VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations.
• Support the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Liaise with clients and respond to queries effectively.
• Support senior team members with day-to-day client work.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• AAT/ACCA qualified/studying, or a relevant Accounting & Finance degree.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is advantageous.
