Interim Financial Accountant
Contract Length: 3-4 months Daily Rate: £350 - £400 Location: Central London Job Type: Full-time, 4 days per week in the office
We are currently seeking an experienced and Qualified Accountant to join our client’s finance team on a temporary basis, who are a specialist within the construction sector. This role is crucial for supporting the preparation of the Group’s year-end accounts and managing the external audit process.
This role will require a fully qualified Accountant with a background in statutory accounts/financial statements preparation and support or leading on an audit process.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare and review year-end balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and audit working papers.
- Ensure all year-end files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Coordinate the preparation and collation of information required by external auditors.
- Serve as the key day-to-day contact for the audit team, managing the audit request list and addressing outstanding queries.
- Proactively follow up with finance team members and the wider business to ensure timely information delivery.
- Review audit queries and prepare well-supported responses.
- Identify and address accounting issues during the year-end process in collaboration with senior finance management and auditors.
- Assist with the preparation and review of statutory accounts and supporting disclosures.
- Support the reconciliation of management accounts to the year-end statutory reporting position.
- Maintain clear records of audit adjustments and accounting judgements.
- Monitor the year-end and audit timetable, highlighting potential delays or issues promptly.
- Provide additional financial accounting and reporting support as needed during the year-end process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in financial accounting and year-end reporting.
- Proven track record in managing or playing a significant role in an external audit.
- Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage own workload and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence in handling large volumes of financial data.
- Clear and confident communication abilities.
