Intercompany Accountant

Our client, a highly respected international organisation, is seeking an Intercompany Accountant to join their EMEA Finance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is a key position within the finance function, responsible for ensuring intercompany transactions and balances across multiple EMEA legal entities are accurately accounted for, reconciled and reported. Working closely with finance teams across Europe, Treasury, and the wider Financial Accounting team, you will play an integral role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting month-end and statutory reporting processes.
The Role
As Intercompany Accountant, you will take ownership of intercompany accounting activities across the EMEA region, ensuring transactions are processed effectively and balances are reconciled accurately.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reconciling intercompany control accounts across multiple legal entities
- Liaising with local and overseas finance teams to agree and resolve intercompany balances
- Producing global intercompany matching and confirmation reports
- Processing transactions through the organisation's Global Intercompany System
- Supporting month-end close activities, including accruals and journal postings
- Managing intercompany invoicing, eliminations and recharge processes across EMEA
- Supporting foreign exchange accounting and SAP revaluation activities
- Working closely with Treasury to facilitate settlements through the group netting system
- Assisting with statutory consolidation requirements
- Supporting both internal and external audit processes
- Acting as a key point of contact for intercompany accounting queries across the region
- Contributing to process improvements and ensuring best practice controls are maintained
