Hourly Pay: £13 - £45 PAYE Location: Initially Attercliffe, moving to Manor Lane (near the parkway) in the new year Hours: 37 hours per week Job Type: Full-time, Temporary DBS: Basic DBS check required
We are seeking three organised and confident Income Assistants to join our client's Income Management team on an interim basis. This role is crucial in supporting a large-scale customer funding/support scheme, involving up to 10,000 customers. It is ideal for candidates with strong administrative and data-entry skills who are comfortable working with numbers and financial information.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Issue communications to customers, including letters and text messages, regarding the support scheme.
- Receive and process returned applications, ensuring accurate recording of applications, claims, and customer information.
- Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets and the council's housing management system.
- Handle a limited number of customer enquiries related to applications.
- Contact customers for additional information or clarification as needed.
- Assist customers with completing application forms where necessary.
- Provide general administrative support to Grade 5 Income Specialists.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure efficient processing of information.
- Use practical judgement to identify and escalate issues when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong administrative and data-entry skills.
- Good numeracy skills and confidence working with financial information.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive customer information appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in administrative, business support, income, finance, housing, or customer service environments.
- Experience processing applications, claims, or financial information.
- Familiarity with high volumes of customer or data records.
- Previous experience in a council, housing association, local authority, or similar public-sector.
- Experience using housing management or similar case-management systems.
