Hydraulic Project / Design Engineer
Aberdeen £55,000 - £65,000 DOE Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm
Are you an experienced Hydraulic Engineer looking to take ownership of high-profile marine engineering projects?
We're working with a leading offshore and marine engineering company seeking a Hydraulic Project / Design Engineer to support the design, upgrade and delivery of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems for a range of specialist equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems for winches, tensioners, HPUs, cranes and deck equipment
- Manage hydraulic projects through the full lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing and delivery
- Specify hydraulic components, valves, hoses and pipework to suit application requirements
- Produce and interpret hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams
- Work closely with engineering, workshop, offshore and project teams to ensure successful project execution
- Manage project budgets, schedules and supplier relationships
- Drive continuous improvement and technical best practice across hydraulic engineering activities
What We're Looking For:
- Strong hydraulic design experience within offshore, marine, oil & gas or heavy engineering sectors
- Knowledge of open and closed loop hydraulic systems
- Experience specifying components from manufacturers such as Rexroth, Parker, Wandfluh or similar
- Competent with CAD software and hydraulic schematics
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent industry experience
- CETOP, NFPA or BFPA hydraulic training would be advantageous
