Temporary School HR Administrator Location: South Kensington, London Contract: Temporary (Minimum 1 Month, Potential Extension) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm or 9:00am to 5:00pm Working Pattern: Fully On-Site Start Date: ASAP About the Role An independent school based in the heart of South Kensington is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Administrator to join the school on an immediate temporary basis. This role has arisen due to a team member leaving while recruitment for a permanent replacement is underway. The school requires an experienced HR professional who can quickly integrate into the team and provide vital support across recruitment, onboarding, safeguarding, and HR administration functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school HR experience who is confident working independently and has a strong understanding of safer recruitment and compliance processes. Key Responsibilities Managing employee onboarding and pre-employment checks Conducting and processing DBS checks Completing safer recruitment checks, including: Right to Work checks Identity verification Qualification checks Reference requests and follow-ups

Maintaining accurate and confidential personnel records Updating HR systems, trackers and document retention records Preparing employment contracts, offer letters and contract variations Supporting recruitment campaigns by: Posting vacancies on the school website and TES Coordinating recruitment administration Organising interview schedules and logistics

Updating and maintaining the Single Central Record Recording and monitoring staff absences Supporting general HR administration and compliance activities About You The successful candidate will have: Previous HR Administration experience within a school, academy or education setting Strong knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements Experience processing DBS checks and compliance documentation Confidence managing onboarding and employee records Experience maintaining a Single Central Record (highly desirable) Excellent organisational and administrative skills The ability to work independently and use initiative Strong attention to detail and confidentiality Good communication skills and a collaborative approach If you have experience within school HR administration and are available to start immediately, we would love to hear from you.
