HR Manager - 5 days onsite

Are you a HR generalist who has experience of working for an independent school?

I am working with a historical independent school in North West London who are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and manage the full HR function. This is a permeant position working full-time onsite Mon – Fri with some flexibility to work hybrid during the school holidays.

This is a standalone role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, providing both strategic and operational HR support. You will take ownership of the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring best practice across recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, wellbeing and performance management.

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience

Key responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
• Advising managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance and capability issues
• Managing HR policies and ensuring compliance with current employment legislation
• Overseeing HR administration, absence management and HR reporting
• Supporting staff wellbeing initiatives and employee engagement activities
• Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring safeguarding and compliance standards are met
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to support organisational objectives and workforce planning

Experience required

• Previous experience in a generalist HR Manager role within Education
• Confident in dealing with Safer recruitment within schools
• Previously managed the Single Central Register (SCR):
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law
• Experience managing complex employee relations cases
• CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience
