Hgv Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Plant Fitter to join our busy workshop team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong diagnostic, repair, and maintenance experience across HGVs, plant machinery, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance, inspections, servicing, repairs, and testing on HGVs, plant machinery, and equipment.
• Prepare, present, and accompany HGV vehicles for annual MOT inspections.
• Perform periodic safety inspections in line with VOSA inspection manual standards.
• Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Undertake welding, fabrication, and vehicle body repairs as required.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles, carrying out both temporary and permanent repairs.
• Prepare vehicles for service and decommission vehicles when required.
• Install and remove ancillary equipment, accessories, and vehicle livery.
• Complete all relevant workshop documentation and update the workshop management system accurately.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Attend training courses and development programmes as required.
• Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Company Director.
