Temporary Position Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
The Role
We are recruiting for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Coordinator to support the day-to-day facilities and compliance activities of our client's business. This is a varied role responsible for coordinating maintenance, managing contractors, maintaining compliance records, and supporting health and safety initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Coordination
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers, including cleaning, security, and maintenance suppliers.
- Arrange repairs, servicing, inspections, and compliance visits.
- Monitor and resolve facilities-related issues in a timely manner.
- Support the upkeep of a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment.
Health & Safety
- Support the implementation of company health and safety procedures.
- Assist with workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Coordinate fire safety checks, emergency procedures, and evacuation planning.
- Maintain records of accidents, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations and ensure reporting procedures are followed.
- Identify and escalate potential risks and hazards.
Compliance & Administration
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate statutory compliance activities, including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, legionella monitoring, and contractor documentation.
- Ensure all certifications and records are up to date and audit-ready.
- Produce reports and management information relating to facilities and health & safety.
- Utilise facilities management systems, health & safety software, and Excel to track actions and maintain records.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a Facilities Coordinator, Facilities Management, Workplace Coordinator, or similar role.
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including Health & Safety at Work Act, RIDDOR, and COSHH.
- Experience supporting risk assessments, workplace inspections, and audits.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance activities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Fire Marshal/Fire Warden training.
- Experience using Facilities Management or Health & Safety systems.
