Ipswich Salary: £46,803 - £53,919 per annum + Market Forces Supplement of up to £4,383 Full Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Plumbing & Heating professional with a passion for developing future industry talent and leading high-performing educational teams?

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Plumbing & Heating to lead a successful and growing curriculum area within a well-established Further Education provider. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced curriculum leader, programme manager, or Head of Department to drive curriculum excellence, develop staff, enhance employer engagement, and improve learner outcomes.

As the Head of Plumbing & Heating, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the department, overseeing study programmes, apprenticeships, and adult learning provision while ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plumbing & Heating provision from Entry Level through to Level 3.
• Drive learner achievement, retention, attendance and progression.
• Manage and develop a team of teaching and support staff.
• Lead on curriculum planning, staffing and timetabling.
• Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across all programmes.
• Develop strong relationships with employers and industry partners.
• Monitor performance against key curriculum and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with awarding body and funding requirements.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation across the department.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant Plumbing & Heating qualification and industry experience.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve if applicable).
• Previous experience in curriculum leadership, management or programme leadership.
• Strong understanding of Further Education and Apprenticeships.
• Experience managing staff and improving performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvement strategies.
