Foundation Lecturer
Location: Uxbridge (Barra Hall) Pay Rate: From £35.00+ per hour Job Type: 18 hours (3 days per week)
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons to Foundation Learning learners, ensuring individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes are effectively met.
- Support learners with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and communication barriers.
- Create a safe, supportive, and accessible learning environment that promotes learner confidence, independence, and achievement.
- Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), targets, and strategies to support academic, personal, and social development.
- Assess, monitor, and record learner progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching approaches to maximise learner success.
- Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, SEND teams, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure learners receive appropriate support and interventions.
- Prepare learners for adulthood by developing employability, life skills, communication, and independent living skills.
Essential Requirements
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent)
- SEND teaching experience
- Functional Skills English & Maths delivery experience
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare
