Commercial Finance & Analytics Manager

Reporting To: Managing Director

We are looking for a commercially focused Commercial Finance & Analytics Manager to join a growing business. This is a key role that sits between Finance and Commercial, providing financial insight, pricing analysis, profitability reporting and commercial support to help drive business performance.

Reporting to the Managing Director and partnering closely with the Commercial Director, you will play a critical role in analysing revenue, margin and pricing performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the accuracy of commercial data and reporting.

This position would suit a highly analytical individual with strong Excel skills, excellent commercial awareness, and the ability to turn complex data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Commercial Analysis

• Analyse sales, margin, cost, pricing and profitability performance across customers, suppliers and product categories.
• Produce regular financial and commercial reporting, dashboards and KPI analysis.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning through meaningful financial analysis.
• Provide recommendations to support commercial decision-making and business growth.

Pricing & Margin Management

• Maintain and oversee customer and supplier pricing data across business systems.
• Manage price reviews, updates and implementation of pricing changes.
• Monitor pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve margins.
• Support customer contract reviews and profitability analysis.

Business Partnering

• Provide analytical support to the Managing Director, Commercial Director and Finance team.
• Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Investigate data issues and provide commercially focused recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement of reporting, processes and data quality.

Reporting & Data Management

• Develop and maintain management reports, dashboards and performance metrics.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of commercial and financial data.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of customer, supplier and product information.

Leadership

• Lead and develop the Data Administrator role.
• Manage workflow priorities, performance and development.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial finance, financial analysis or business analytics experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience
• Strong understanding of revenue, margin, pricing and profitability analysis.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear commercial insight.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading, coaching or developing team members.
• Experience with BI tools, ERP systems or commercial reporting platforms would be advantageous.
