Family Time Worker

We are seeking a dedicated Family Time Worker to join our team in Children’s Services.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality interventions and achieving positive outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) and their families. The ideal candidate will work with vulnerable families who may have complex needs, primarily delivering quality Family Time sessions and working across various settings.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Contribute to risk assessments and protect children and young people from danger, harm, and abuse.
• Plan and record interventions effectively to support and contribute to the overall assessment held by referring social care teams.
• Deliver quality interventions within the Framework for Action parenting capacity guidance.
• Offer support and evidence-based intervention around child development using EYFS guidance and behaviour management strategies.
• Work in partnership with families on protection plans in their own home, where appropriate.
• Communicate and work with a range of professionals and agencies ensuring a seamless service for children and families, managing, and providing information to support effective decision-making.
• Escort children and families as appropriate and manage a caseload effectively, delivering and reporting on agreed work tasks.
• Support, mentor, and supervise students and volunteers across a range of service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to contribute to the protection of children by identifying and acting upon risks.
• Effective communication skills for planning, delivery, and outcomes reporting.
• Implement interventions and strategies to prevent family breakdown and support rehabilitation plans.
• Good time management and organisational skills to manage a caseload effectively.
• Develop and implement activities for all children including those with additional needs.
• Relevant level 3 qualification (e.g., NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC, Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care, Youth and Community Studies).
• Experience of working with children and families support services and in a multi-agency environment.

Additional Information:

This role requires flexibility to work outside of normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.

Essential car user post; must hold a valid driving licence and have adequate vehicle insurance.
