Join our brand-new Children's Residential Home in Berwick-upon-Tweed as an Assistant Manager / Senior Residential Childcare Worker. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop services from the start, providing leadership and support in a dynamic environment.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Residential Childcare Practitioners.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in our care.
  • Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance are maintained.
  • Act as a positive role model and provide leadership during shifts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, social workers, educational providers, and external professionals.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews.
  • Help shape and develop a brand-new service from the ground up.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within a Children's Residential Care setting.
  • Experience as a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy/Assistant Manager is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.
