Location: Warrington Job Type: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite) Rate: £250–£280 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35) Contract Duration: Initial 3-month contract with anticipated extension
We are seeking a Data Protection & Fraud Assistant to join the General Counsel function of a leading organisation in Warrington. This role is an excellent opportunity for Law graduates, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, or junior Compliance/Data Protection professionals aiming to advance their careers in data protection, regulatory compliance, and investigations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the Data Protection & Fraud Manager in maintaining the organisation's data protection compliance framework.
- Administer Subject Access Requests (SARs) and handle external information/disclosure requests within regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in investigations into potential data protection compliance breaches and fraud incidents.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external organisations regarding information and fraud enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records, registers, and management information relating to requests, fraud events, and whistleblowing cases.
- Support data protection compliance reviews involving third-party processors and suppliers.
- Respond to straightforward data protection and compliance queries using established policies and procedures.
- Help promote data protection and fraud awareness throughout the organisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent experience in a legal or compliance role.
- Experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, particularly with exposure to regulatory, commercial, litigation, public law, or information law matters is advantageous.
- Junior Compliance, Governance, or Data Protection professionals looking to expand their experience are encouraged to apply.
- Highly organised, analytical, and detail-focused.
- Strong written communication and IT skills.
- Confidence in working with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Experience in a customer-focused, regulated, or process-driven environment is beneficial.
- Previous specialist fraud experience is not essential; a keen interest in data protection and regulatory compliance is more critical.
