Construction Trade Technician Further Education College | Cambridge Full-Time | Permanent Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)
A well-established Further Education College in Cambridge is seeking Construction Trade Technicians to support the delivery of high-quality practical learning within the Construction department.
Subjects that require covering are:
- Plumbing
- Construction
- Electrical Installation
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in the construction industry who is looking to move into education and help learners develop their practical skills in a safe and professional workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare workshop areas, equipment, and materials for practical sessions
- Support lecturers during construction trade lessons and demonstrations
- Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment to industry standards
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and resources
- Ensure workshop areas remain clean, organised, and safe
- Promote and maintain health and safety procedures at all times
- Provide practical assistance to students during workshop activities
Requirements:
- Experience within the construction industry or a construction workshop environment
- Knowledge of construction tools, materials, and equipment
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience within an educational setting is desirable but not essential
