Cnc Operator
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter and Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience in both turning and milling operations who is looking to work within a modern engineering environment.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with Sliding Head CNC machines , Mazak equipment , and Fanuc controls , with the ability to programme, set, and operate machinery to produce high-quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC machinery to produce precision-engineered components.
- Work with Sliding Head CNC machines and Mazak machining centres .
- Utilise Fanuc control systems to create and modify programmes as required.
- Operate and set CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines .
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure components meet tolerances and customer requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and tooling changes.
- Assist with process improvements to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to deliver work to schedule.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter and Operator .
- Strong background in Sliding Head CNC machining .
- Experience operating Mazak machinery.
- Working knowledge of Fanuc controls .
- Experience with CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines .
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
- Experience using CAD software .
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience working within a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues independently.
