The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer to join a well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer based in Devon.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering the chance to programme, set and operate CNC machinery while manufacturing high-quality precision-engineered components for a global customer base. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting production, improving processes and maintaining the highest quality standards within the machine shop.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being involved throughout the machining process rather than simply operating machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC machines
  • Manufacturing precision-engineered components to drawing specifications
  • Creating and modifying CNC programmes where required
  • Selecting tooling and work-holding solutions
  • Conducting first-off inspections and quality checks
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Supporting process improvements and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensuring components are produced efficiently, accurately and to the required quality standards
  • Working closely with colleagues across manufacturing and engineering functions

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer, CNC Setter/Operator or similar
  • Experience with CNC turning, milling or mill-turn machining
  • Ability to programme, set and operate CNC machinery
  • Experience working from engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, Haas or similar controls would be advantageous
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards

Hours

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
