Caretaker Location: Peterborough Hours: Flexible Pay: From £14.24 per hour About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-presented school environment for pupils with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and upkeep of the school site. Carry out routine repairs and respond promptly to maintenance issues. Conduct regular health and safety checks and risk assessments. Ensure the site remains clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained. Support pupils in developing independence and practical life skills through involvement in site care and maintenance activities. Assist in facilitating work experience opportunities related to site management and maintenance. Work closely with school staff to ensure the environment supports pupils' wellbeing and individual needs. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture. What We're Looking For A compassionate, reliable, and proactive individual. Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience. Experience working with children or young people is desirable. An understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs would be advantageous. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A flexible and practical approach to problem-solving. Commitment to maintaining high standards across the school environment. A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
