Service & Calibration Technician

Are you technically minded with an interest in electronics, electrical testing equipment or precision instruments?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer and supplier of specialist test and measurement equipment, supporting customers across a variety of technical and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Service & Calibration Technician to their technical support team based in Crawley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electronic, electrical or engineering knowledge who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working with precision equipment.

The Role

Working within a dedicated technical workshop, you'll be responsible for calibrating, servicing, repairing and testing a wide range of specialist instruments, ensuring customers receive equipment that meets the highest quality and performance standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Calibration of test and measurement instruments
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Servicing electronic equipment and replacing components where required
  • Producing calibration certificates and maintaining accurate records
  • Conducting quality checks and functional testing
  • Supporting internal quality procedures and workshop processes
  • Providing technical support to customers and colleagues
  • Contributing towards continuous improvement initiatives within the department

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, offering exposure to a wide variety of specialist equipment and technologies.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who have a genuine interest in electronics, instrumentation, calibration or technical engineering environments.

Essential Skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

Desirable Experience

  • Calibration or metrology experience
  • Electronic fault finding and repair
  • Electronics qualification (BTEC, NVQ, HNC/HND, City & Guilds or similar)
  • Soldering and PCB repair experience
  • Experience working with electrical testing, HVAC, combustion analysis or condition monitoring equipment
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards
  • Full UK Driving Licence
