Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with autism to thrive in the classroom?

We are recruiting for a full-time Autism Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an immediate start opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships, support emotional regulation, and help pupils engage successfully in learning.

The Role

• Full-time, Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 15.30
• Immediate start
• Supporting primary-aged pupils with autism
• Providing 1:1 and small group support
• Assisting pupils with emotional regulation and sensory needs
• Implementing strategies to help pupils access learning and achieve positive outcomes
• Working closely with teachers and the wider therapeutic team

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 12 months' experience working in a classroom setting
• Experience supporting children with autism, SEND, or additional needs
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their full potential
