Catering Lead (Alternative Provision / SEN)

Are you a passionate catering professional ready to step out of the kitchen and into a role that truly changes lives?
We’re looking for an Associate Tutor – Catering Lead to deliver hands-on learning and inspire students in an alternative provision setting. This role is perfect for someone who wants to combine their catering expertise with making a real difference to young people with additional needs and behavioural challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering the BTEC Catering qualification through engaging, practical lessons
- Leading kitchen sessions and supporting students to develop life and employability skills
- Preparing and managing breakfast club and school lunches
- Maintaining a safe, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
- Supporting students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
- Building strong relationships and acting as a positive role model and mentor
- Working closely with teaching staff, leadership, and external agencies
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students achieve their potential
What we’re looking for:
- Background in catering, hospitality or professional kitchens
- Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, or similar)
- Strong behaviour management or a genuine passion to develop it
- Patient, resilient, and confident managing challenging situations
- A team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
- Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent)
