Area Housing Operations Manager

Day Rate: £350 - £375 Location: City of London Job Type: Temporary

Reed is recruiting on behalf of the Council for an Area Housing Manager to lead the delivery of all services provided to tenants and residents on the City’s estates. This temporary role is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic leader to drive service improvements and ensure high-quality, value-for-money services that are customer-focused and sustainable.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead, manage, and be accountable for Housing Services within the area, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of stakeholders shape service delivery.
• Inspire, lead, motivate, and manage the resident services team, implementing performance development frameworks to achieve optimum performance.
• Lead on resident involvement, ensuring estate teams provide opportunities for residents to participate in the management of services.
• Establish and maintain development plans for each estate, covering maintenance, improvements, staffing changes, and resident issues, and coordinate their implementation.
• Liaise with elected members and other stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged with matters affecting the estates.
• Be responsible for health and safety across the area, including risk management and policy implementation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in managing housing services and leading teams.
• Strong ability to develop and implement strategic plans and manage budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership building skills.
• Knowledge of financial, procurement, and contracting regulations.
• Commitment to promoting equalities, sustainability, and health and safety policies.
• Ability to handle emergency situations as part of the Department’s Emergency Management & Response Team.
