APPLICATIONS LEAD, APPLICATIONS MANAGER, INSIDE IR35, HYBRID, 6 MONTH ROLLING CONTRACT

My client, a leader in the public sector, is seeking an experience Applications Portfolio Manager to work on a hybrid basis from both home and their London office. If successful, you will ensure operational and strategic success of Applications, ensuring all applications meet agreed operational requirements and that each application has a documented lifecycle balancing the business needs, associated risks and opportunities.
You will work with Application Delivery Managers and other 3rd party suppliers to optimise the ability of digital delivery through improvements in the application estate. This shall be delivered through management of overall application estate capability as well as improving specific applications ability to capture, store, process, analyse and share (through relevant approved methods) information, whilst allowing these applications to become easier and simpler for users to operate.
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of technical capabilities and developments in applications and supporting areas such as cloud, data analytics, microservices etc
- A deep understanding of Service Management best practice backed up by relevant industry qualifications (ITIL).
- A good understanding of the range of IT services provided by Digital & Innovation (or equivalent large organisation IT service) and how these are managed through a clear service vision and strategy.
- A broad knowledge of Application Management methodologies and application lifecycle planning such as ISO16350 or other applicable structured methodology.
- A broad knowledge of the MPS business activities and operations as well as knowledge of relevant key stakeholders is preferable but not compulsory as these can be taught in role, although previous experience of aligning a similar role to a company’s activities and operations will aid this transfer
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience of delivering comparable application services to large customer bases
- Experience of operating and managing application services within a clear Governance and Risk Management structure.
- Experience of delivering services utilising Performance Outcome Controls e.g. Operating and Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators, Commercial Frameworks
- Experience of managing Service Management outcomes through contractual frameworks, and ensuring these are aligned to the desired business outcomes, including the evolution of services to ensure needs continue to be delivered
- Experience of delivering in a multi supplier projects and programmes environments, including those within a non-unified contract structure.
