Adults Social Worker- Autism Team

Our Client, a Greater Manchester council is seeking an Adult’s Social Worker to join their Autism Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

• Undertake Care Act assessments and develop person-centred care and support plans for autistic adults and their carers.
• Manage a caseload of adults with autism, assessing needs, strengths, risks, and outcomes to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Complete safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments, ensuring vulnerable adults are protected from abuse and neglect.
• Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding policies in practice.
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing services, education providers, community organisations, and family members to coordinate support.
• Provide advice, advocacy, and practical support to autistic adults and their families, enabling informed decision-making and access to appropriate services.
• Review care and support arrangements, monitor outcomes, and ensure interventions remain effective and responsive to changing needs.

Requirements of this role:

• Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
• Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
