Accounts Team Leader
Reed Finance are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing business operating within the offshore marine services sector in their search for an Accounts Team Leader to join their Aberdeen-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong Xero expertise to take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities while supporting the Finance Director and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
Working closely with both finance and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day finance administration using Xero
- Maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers
- Processing customer invoices, supplier bills, payments and banking transactions
- Completing bank, credit card and control account reconciliations
- Supporting credit control activities and monitoring outstanding customer balances
- Assisting with month-end and quarter-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Producing accurate financial reports and supporting management reporting requirements
- Resolving customer and supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
- Reconciling operational costs and supporting accurate cost allocation
- Assisting with audit requirements and ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
- Providing support and guidance across finance administration activities where required
We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience within an Accounts Supervisor, Senior Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer position. Candidates should possess strong working knowledge of Xero, excellent reconciliation skills, and a solid understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control processes.
