Must-have:SeniorLeadPrincipal

Reed Practice are working with the senior leadership team of a regional office for a national brand in UK Accounting.

Due to continued growth and an expanding client portfolio, our client has partnered with us to recruit an experienced Practice Manager to play a key role in the leadership and future success of the firm.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected practice that combines the resources and stability of a national organisation with the supportive, close-knit feel of a local office.

Being independently owned, the Accounts Manager will have opportunity to work closely alongside and support the Practice Principal. As a trusted member of the management team, you will have significant involvement in both managing a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality accounting and advisory service whilst leading and developing the accounts team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of SME and medium-sized business clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Attending client meetings and providing accounting, tax and business advice.
  • Reviewing accounts, management accounts and associated compliance work prepared by the team.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing members of the accounts team across varying levels of experience.
  • Delegating and prioritising workflow to ensure deadlines and service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Monitoring team performance and providing coaching, technical support and professional development opportunities.
  • Identifying process improvements and contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice.
  • Supporting the Practice Principal with the operational management and continued growth of the office

We are keen to hear from individuals who have gained experience within a UK accountancy practice environment managing not only clients but team members, and are looking to take the next step in their career or make a move into a more influential position.

Applications are welcomed from those who are:

  • AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified through relevant experience.
  • Success in delivering accounts and advisory services within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Knowledgeable in FRS 102 (including Section 1A) and FRS 105.
  • Confident reviewing work, managing client relationships and providing technical guidance.
  • Proven experience in managing a team including motivating, disciplining, training and (not essential) recruiting.

Whether you are currently operating as an Accounts Manager and seeking a fresh challenge, or a Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager who already has team leadership responsibilities and is ready to step into a formal management position, this opportunity offers genuine scope to make an impact.
