An established and growing accountancy practice based in Chelmsford is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Apprentice to join their team.

This opportunity is ideally suited to someone who is currently studying AAT Level 3 and is looking to develop their practical accounting experience in a supportive practice environment. You will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting duties while receiving ongoing training and mentorship from experienced professionals.

The Role

Working alongside experienced accountants, you will support the team with a variety of accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities while continuing your professional studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Supporting bookkeeping activities using cloud-based accounting software.
• Preparing and processing VAT returns.
• Assisting with management accounts and financial reports.
• Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Maintaining accurate client records and financial data.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information and documentation.
• Providing general administrative support to the accounts team.

About You

• Currently studying AAT Level 3 or recently completed AAT Level 2 and progressing to Level 3.
• Keen to build a long-term career within accountancy.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
