Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Year 6

Location: Blackpool Primary School Working Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm Start Date: Monday 7th September Contract: Temporary (Christmas at least) Salary: £14.63 per hour

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with developmental delays at a Blackpool Primary School. This role is crucial in helping the pupil access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Adapt and differentiate classroom activities to meet the pupil's learning needs and abilities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to ensure the pupil can engage meaningfully in lessons.
• Foster the pupil's confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
• Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working with children with additional learning needs or SEND.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt learning resources and activities to suit individual needs.
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis is highly desirable.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
