At Vestigit, we develop forensic watermarking technology for video content. We place an invisible identifier in the image that can be read from a sample of an unauthorized copy and, in an appropriately integrated system, linked to a session or token. In this way, we help establish the sources of illegal distribution. We combine backend, multimedia processing, and integrations with streaming infrastructure.

Your tasks

We are expanding our team and creating a new role for a person who will combine responsibility for architecture with regular coding. You will set the technical direction, develop critical components, and support the team in decision-making. This is a role of a technical leader and mentor, without personnel management responsibilities.

• Designing architecture from a whole-system perspective: from video encoding and processing, through CDN distribution, to the end receiver.
• Developing key services, API, integrations, and pipelines, primarily in Python and in C++ where performance is critical.
• Prototyping solutions, creating proof of concept, and comparing alternative architectural approaches.
• Diagnosing complex problems and bottlenecks, and optimizing latency, reliability, and infrastructure costs.
• Making decisions that take into account image quality, performance, scale, security, and product goals.
• Conducting code reviews, mentoring, and ensuring code quality and the clarity of solutions for the team.
• Breaking down larger initiatives into tasks, estimating with risk consideration, and planning work with the Product Owner.

Requirements

• Very good knowledge of Python and practice in designing and developing backend, API, and integrations.
• Very good knowledge of C++ and experience working on components where performance and resource utilization matter.
• Practical knowledge of JavaScript for integration and tooling purposes.
• Experience in designing low-latency, high-reliability systems, understanding CDN, cache, and edge/origin relationships, and assessing the impact of changes on the entire data flow.
• Experience in integrating AI/ML models with production systems and multimedia pipelines, including implementation and inference optimization.
• Practice in multimedia processing and streaming: GStreamer, encoding and transcoding, HLS/DASH segmentation, and the dependency between latency and quality.

• Ability to diagnose production problems, identify bottlenecks, and justify technical decisions.
• Knowledge of system security fundamentals: data encryption in transit and at rest, signatures, tokens, authentication, authorization, and API protection.

• Independence in decision-making, openness to alternative solutions, and the ability to share knowledge and explain complex issues.
• English proficiency allowing for free discussion of technical issues with clients.
• We also consider people with architectural experience who have not previously worked under a formal Tech Lead title but want to combine system design, active programming, and technical team support.

• Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment and cloud environments.
• Integration of AI models with a production system and optimization of inference for performance and latency.
