Second Engineer for Eckerö Link
The Eckerö Group has recently expanded its fleet with a new vessel, M/S Eckerö Link (formerly Nautica). The vessel is planned to enter service later this winter.
We are now seeking a 2nd Engineer for M/S Eckerö Link. The position is a permanent employment with immediate start or as agreed.
M/S Eckerö Link will sail under the Swedish flag and operate daily between Långnäs (Åland) and Nådendal (Finland). The position follows a 2–3 system consisting of 146 days on board.
The official working and safety language on board is English, while knowledge of Finnish and Swedish is considered an advantage.
Who are you?
We are looking for a second engineer with:
- Relevant professional experience and qualifications
- Previous experience working in a leadership role
- A positive attitude and a strong commitment to maintaining high safety and environmental standards on board
As a second engineer, you are responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the vessel's machinery and auxiliary systems, in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements. You have good overall knowledge of the vessel's technical systems and actively contribute to a safe and efficient engine department.
The minimum requirement for the position is a valid certificate of competency as Maskinbefäl klass V / Watchkeeping Engineer (STCW III/1). Qualifications at a higher level are considered an advantage.
