Responsibilities and assignments

Main responsibilities:

• Organize, catalog, and maintain the library collection using librarianship techniques.
• Assist and guide users regarding the use of library services.
• Participate in the creation and implementation of reading programs and cultural events.
• Research and suggest new media and interactive resources to foster interest in reading.
• Prepare usage statistics and reports on the services offered.
• Perform periodic inventory of the collection and control of loans.
• Research and select titles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish by age group.
• Supervise the study hour for Middle Years students (4:00 pm to 5:00 pm).
• Teach Book Club classes and adapt content for students with special educational needs.
• Support the organization of the Book Club and participate in the supervision of elective subjects, when necessary.
• Collaborate with the pedagogical team and perform other related activities, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and catalog the library’s collection using librarianship techniques.

• Research and suggest new interactive media to foster reading habits.
• Compile usage statistics and prepare service reports.
• Perform regular inventory checks and manage the lending process.
• Research and recommend books in Portuguese, English, and Spanish by age group.
• Supervise study hour for Middle Years students (4:00–5:00 pm)
• Teach Book Club lessons and adapt materials for students with special needs.
• Support the organization of Book Club and participate in elective class planning.
• Collaborate with the pedagogical team and carry out additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements and qualifications

Education:

• Degree in Library Science.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years in the field (desirable).

Languages:

• Proficiency in English (B1 level or higher).
• Spanish will be considered a plus.

Technical Knowledge:

• Archival techniques.
• Bibliographic collection management processes.
