Train to Become a Swimming Coach — LTC Batch 15

Turn your interest in swimming and working with children into meaningful coaching experience through the Red Dot Penguins Learn to Coach (LTC) Programme.

The role involves teaching young children—some as young as 2.5 years old—in a supportive learn-to-swim environment. Coaching is part-time and takes place mainly on weekends.

Coaching Locations

  • Siglap
  • Bukit Timah
  • Caldecott
  • Dhoby Ghaut

Coaching Hours

Flexible, mainly on weekends:

  • Morning: 9:00am–12:00pm
  • Afternoon: 3:00pm–6:00pm

Role Responsibilities

  • Teach young children water confidence and foundational swimming skills
  • Create a safe, engaging and encouraging learning environment
  • Assist with class organisation, student supervision and equipment
  • Communicate clearly with children, parents and fellow coaches
  • Apply the knowledge and techniques taught during the LTC programme
  • Participate in practical coaching experience throughout the programme

Requirements

  • Able to commit to 4–6 coaching hours per week for two years
  • Able to complete and actively participate in the LTC training programme
  • Comfortable working with young children
  • Patient, responsible, dependable and willing to learn
  • Available mainly on weekends
  • Able to attend the scheduled training sessions

LTC Batch 15 Training Details

Course starts: 14 October Training location: Siglap

Training schedule:

  • Wednesday: 7:30pm–10:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30pm–10:00pm
  • Saturday: 1:00pm–6:00pm
  • Sunday: 8:00am–12:00pm

Participants will receive practical coaching experience throughout the programme, allowing them to apply what they learn in an actual learn-to-swim environment.
