Senior Test Engineer

About the company

Our client is an established provider of power conversion and electronic power supply solutions. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Senior Test Engineer to support production test engineering, automation and new product introduction. They are located in the North-East of Singapore, with convenient accessibility.

Your tasks

• Develop and enhance automated production test solutions for power supply products, including AC/DC and DC/DC converters, covering electrical performance, protection functions, digital control and communication interfaces.
• Design, develop and qualify production test fixtures, jigs, interface boards, cable harnesses and adapters in collaboration with PCB, mechanical and external suppliers. Ensure appropriate electrical safety, ESD protection, grounding, shielding and connection reliability.
• Lead troubleshooting of production test failures and manufacturing issues through systematic failure analysis and root-cause investigation. Implement corrective actions and analyse test data, yield, false failures and test escapes to improve product quality.
• Establish test specifications, methods, acceptance limits, procedures and test coverage based on product requirements, measurement capability, process variation and statistical data. Optimise test time, coverage, cost and test reliability.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to establish Design for Testability (DFT) requirements and production test strategies for new products. Qualify and release automated test equipment (ATE), fixtures and test software, support production ramp-up and manufacturing transfer, and drive ongoing improvements to test systems and processes.

Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in test engineering, automated test equipment (ATE), production testing or electronics manufacturing.
2. Strong hands-on experience in developing, debugging, implementing and qualifying automated production test systems and test programs, preferably for power supplies, power converters or other power electronics products.
3. Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, electrical performance testing, test instrumentation and electrical safety, including high-voltage testing, ESD protection, grounding, creepage and clearance requirements.
4. Proven experience designing, troubleshooting and improving production test fixtures, jigs, interface boards, cable harnesses and test adapters, with the ability to conduct failure analysis, root-cause investigation and corrective actions.
5. Experience with programmable power supplies, electronic loads, digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, data acquisition (DAQ) systems and automated test equipment. Familiarity with LabVIEW, Python, C/C++ or equivalent programming languages is an advantage. Knowledge of SCPI and communication interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, RS-232/485, CAN, I²C, SPI and UART, as well as test data analysis, statistical process control (SPC) and yield improvement, will be beneficial.
