BI Data Engineer

About the role

As a BI Data Engineer, you are responsible for developing, maintaining, and further developing the backend part of our BI platform. You create a scalable, stable, and well-structured data foundation that enables reporting, analysis, and data-driven decisions throughout the organization.

Your main tasks

Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data pipelines.

Design and manage robust ETL/ELT processes.

Integrate data from ERP systems, business systems, and external sources.

Ensure data quality, integrity, traceability, and security.

Optimize data flows and performance for reporting and analysis.

Translate business needs into scalable technical data solutions.

Continuously evaluate and improve the platform's tools and technologies.

You will be part of our global IT department with 22 colleagues in Sweden, Denmark, China, and India. We have an informal and helpful culture where we collaborate across team boundaries to provide the organization with the best possible IT service. The position is located in Bårhult just outside of Göteborg.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have experience in BI, data engineering, and the development of data platforms. You also have an interest in the business at large and are committed to creating understanding and relationships.

We would prefer that you have:

Experience in BI-backend, data warehouses, and data engineering.

Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Experience in data modeling, for example dimensional modeling and star schema.

Experience with ETL/ELT processes.

Understanding of cloud-based data platforms, for example Azure or AWS.

Good understanding of data governance and security principles.

Strong analytical ability and good problem-solving skills.

Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
