OT Trained Nurse *Eye Setting* - CENTRAL AREA #HGA

Job Scope:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with Nursing Guidelines.
• Perform nursing procedures and clinical assessments, including ECG and HypoCount.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and concise documentation in ANA Pre-operative Checklist, SCM, EMR, and nursing records.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide patient counselling.
• Educate patients on fasting requirements, medication management, and day surgery procedures.
• Conduct tele-care follow-up for eye drop compliance and screening of post-operative complications.
• Provide appropriate telephone advice and escalation when required.
• Participate in patient care improvement initiatives and discussions.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, calibration, and care of clinical equipment.
• Assist in inventory control and stock verification.
• Exercise prudent use of departmental resources.
• Adhere to infection control, hand hygiene, and standard precaution practices.
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Precept, mentor, and orientate new and attachment staff.
• Conduct on-the-job training and in-service education.

Job Requirements:

• Recognized General Nursing qualification or Diploma in Nursing with 1-2 years’ relevant experience preferred.
• Valid BCLS + AED Certification
• Valid SNB
