Locum Phlebotomist (Project, Clinic) #HYN

Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support blood collection services on a short-term locum basis. The ideal candidate should be confident and proficient in venepuncture and able to work independently in a patient-facing environment. Job Description Perform venepuncture and blood collection accurately and safely.

Prepare patients for blood collection and explain the procedure clearly.

Verify patient information and ensure correct specimen identification.

Handle, label and process blood specimens according to established procedures.

Maintain proper infection control and safety practices.

Ensure phlebotomy equipment and work areas are clean and properly prepared.

Monitor patients during and after blood collection and respond appropriately to any concerns.

Minimise patient discomfort while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Handle specimens carefully to prevent errors or contamination.

Maintain appropriate documentation and records.

Work closely with laboratory and healthcare team members to ensure smooth workflow.

Adhere to relevant clinical, safety and quality standards.

Who Should Apply Relevant healthcare qualification or phlebotomy training.

Proven hands-on experience in venepuncture/blood collection.

Careful and detail-oriented when handling patient information and specimens.
