Contract Chemist β Water Testing #HYN
π Location: West of Singapore π° Contract: 12 Months, Renewable π Experience: No Experience required - Training provided π Company Transport: Available from selected MRT stations About the Role We are looking for a Contract Chemist to support laboratory testing of customer water and crude oil samples. This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in laboratory testing and industrial water analysis. Training will be provided, so prior experience with the specific testing methods is not mandatory . Key Responsibilities Perform manual laboratory testing on crude oil, sour water, wastewater, cooling water and boiler water samples .
Conduct tests including: COD (Hach)
TOC, Turbidity, pH and Conductivity
FIA for Phenol
FTIR for oil and grease in wastewater
BOD, SOUR and OUR testing
Prepare laboratory equipment and reagents prior to testing.
Accurately record, compile and report test results in the PSR database .
Clean, maintain and ensure laboratory equipment is in good working condition.
Handle and test samples such as Sour Water , which may contain high levels of HβS and ammonia and may produce strong odours.
Independently manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including: Chemical and reagent inventory management
Purchasing and stock tracking
Laboratory housekeeping and general upkeep
Requirements Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Prior exposure to the listed testing methods is an advantage but not mandatory , as training will be provided.
Proactive, responsible and willing to take initiative.
Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Comfortable working in a laboratory environment involving industrial water and crude oil samples.
