Agency Staff Nurse at Outram (3 months extendable) #HGAT

• may rotate between OT and Dayward setting.

Working Hours Dayward: 8am - 4pm/ 8.30am - 4.30pm, 1 hour break (7hrs) OT Recovery: 6.30am – 2.30pm / 7.30am – 3.30pm / 8.30am – 4.30pm / 10am – 6pm

• Hours can be staggered depending on deployment / cases but will be within office hours and 7 hours a day.

SN: $25/hr

Job duties The agency nurse in Day Surgery provides nursing care and patient education activities to an assigned group of patients with minimal supervision from Staff Nurses to ensure patients receive the appropriate care and comfort.

• Assist in daily delivery of basic ophthalmic pre- and post operative nursing care.
• Assist in performing designated procedures such as : -> Eye dressing

-> Instillation of eye drops -> Blood glucose monitoring for diabetic patients.

• Assist in monitoring and concise recording of observation on patients’ vital signs).
• Report change of patient’s conditions / vital signs to SSN/ SN promptly.
• Institute and maintain safe precautionary measures.
• Assist patient in changing into OT attires or personal attires.
• Assist in sending and fetching patient to and from OT.
• Assist postoperative patients during their consumption of snacks/ drinks if needed.
• Assist in providing preoperative teaching based on the needs of patients.
• Assist in discharging and giving postoperative teaching to patient and caregivers.
• Perform checks on the general cleanliness & tidiness of the unit.
• Report defective facilities / equipment to NC/ SSN/ SN.
• Keep patient area (pre-op and post recovery area, patient’s changing cubicles and lockers) clean, neat and tidy at all times.
• Assists SSN/ SN to keep inventory of daily surgical and consumable and ensure that adequate stock is ready for use at all time.

Requirements

• Recognised nursing qualifications (e.g. Diploma in Nursing) and registered with the Singapore Nursing Board
• Candidates with 1-2 years' relevant clinical experience are preferred.
• Able to thrive in fast-paced environment.
• Able to work overtime during high patient volumes and start work as early as 7am when necessary ----------------------------------------------
