Job Responsibilities

• Manage quotations and prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment and prevent stock shortages.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing and supplier performance records.
• Manage purchase order health, including ageing, past-due and open POs.
• Manage direct and regulated indirect materials with local and overseas suppliers.
• Develop strong supplier relationships, negotiate favourable terms and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support localisation, direct sourcing and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) initiatives to mitigate supply risks.
• Analyse purchasing data and generate reports to support decision-making and improvement opportunities.
• Support PO Collaboration, Supplier Pull, VMI, MRP and historical usage planning to balance demand and supply.
• Determine optimal inventory levels while balancing service levels, costs and working capital.
• Drive actions to manage excess inventory, slow-moving stocks and critical material shortages.
• Coordinate urgent incoming shipments and resolve delivery, receiving and PO-related issues.
• Ensure purchased products meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Work closely with production, finance, engineering and quality teams to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Must have hands-on procurement / purchasing / buying experience.
• Strong vendor and supplier management experience with the ability to build effective supplier partnerships.
• Manufacturing and raw-material procurement experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable managing both local and overseas suppliers.
• Good understanding of inventory management, supply planning and procurement processes.
• Able to work onsite at Changi.
• Must be flexible to occasionally attend evening / night calls to accommodate the US time zone.
• Able to commit for 12 months, with possibility of contract renewal / conversion.
