1 Year Contract Facilities Technical Officer - HDT

Operate, monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance of hospital building and engineering systems, including electrical systems, ACMV/HVAC systems, plumbing and sanitary systems, water supply, pumps, building management systems (BMS), fire protection systems, lifts and other related equipment. Carry out and coordinate planned preventive maintenance according to the approved maintenance schedule. Attend to breakdowns, defects, alarms, and service requests promptly, identify root causes, and arrange appropriate corrective actions. Support the reliable operation of critical infrastructure such as emergency generators, UPS systems, essential electrical supplies, chilled-water/air-conditioning systems, medical gas infrastructure where applicable, fire protection systems, and other essential hospital services. Escalate abnormalities immediately and support emergency response and recovery. Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms, equipment, utility systems, and hospital facilities. Record equipment readings and operating parameters and report abnormalities, safety concerns, deterioration, or potential failures. Coordinate and supervise contractors and service vendors performing maintenance, repair, testing, replacement, and improvement works. Ensure contractors comply with hospital requirements, approved work procedures, permit-to-work requirements, infection-control requirements, and workplace safety standards. Manage and update maintenance work orders, service reports, inspection records, equipment histories, preventive maintenance records, and other technical documentation. Ensure completed works are properly recorded and outstanding defects are followed through to closure. Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable statutory requirements, hospital policies, workplace safety requirements, fire-safety requirements, infection-control procedures, and relevant engineering standards. Participate in inspections, audits, risk assessments, and corrective-action follow-ups. Coordinate maintenance activities with hospital users, clinical departments, Facilities Management, Security, Infection Control, and other relevant teams to minimize disruption to patient care and hospital operations. Provide technical support for renovation, upgrading, equipment installation, shutdown, and commissioning activities where required. Respond promptly to urgent breakdowns and technical emergencies. Assist with fault isolation, temporary restoration, escalation, contractor activation, and permanent rectification. Participate in standby, on-call, after-hours, weekend, or public-holiday duties when required.

The Senior Technical Officer shall ensure that critical hospital engineering systems remain operational and that preventive maintenance is completed according to schedule. Breakdowns and defects shall be attended to promptly, maintenance records shall be kept accurate and up to date, contractors shall be properly supervised, and safety or operational risks shall be escalated without delay.
